VTSCA's Annual Advocacy Meeting

VTSCA's  advocacy meeting will be held held at the state house in Montpelier on April 2nd, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 

Participants will have the opportunity to meet with members of the House and Senate Education Committees to share their experiences and to advocate for issues impacting school counselors and students. Attendees will receive training on how to advocate for the school counseling profession and their students with administrators, school boards and policy makers.  Additionally, you will have the opportunity to set up appointments to meet with your local representatives.

Issues and Priorities:

  • Time: 20% Program Planning & 80% Direct & Indirect Service

  • Student health and wellness & increasing needs

  • Access to comprehensive K-12 school counseling programming

  • Post-Secondary Readiness
